U.S. President Trump has once again singled out Taiwan, threatening to impose heavy tariffs on Taiwanese chips exported to the United States. Chang Chen-hao, Deputy Minister of the National Science and Technology Council, initially remarked that “Trump often says things, so we just listen,” while emphasizing the need to continue fostering industrial development; however, he immediately corrected himself, noting that it is not a matter of merely listening—Taiwan attaches great importance to its relationship with the U.S. and will continue to communicate with the American side.
